Big League Distributing (BLD) is a Metro-Milwaukee, Wisconsin-based alcohol distributor, founded in December 2022 by Larry Hisle, Jr., James H. Burnett III, and Krishan K. Mehta -- Hisle and Burnett associates of Dusty Baker, by way of the Hisle family’s friendship with the Baker family, dating back to the 1970’s when Baker and Larry Hisle, Sr., were friendly rivals in Major League Baseball. BLD will hold the distinction of being the first minority-owned alcohol distributorship in Wisconsin history, headquartered in this brand-new, 36,000-square-foot warehouse and office structure in Mequon, Wisconsin.

The two were visiting Dusty Baker, the World Series-winning player and manager, and the conversation turned to Baker’s winery, Baker Family Wines, which formed in 2013 and was being distributed in the area. During dinner, the two pitched Baker on an idea. What if they brought his wine to the Midwest?
